Hello fellow DIYers. My parents have an old Kenmore 700 series dryer bought used last year and now we can’t run it with the “check lint screen” light on. I’ve cleaned the filter area and vent hose. I took the back panel off to see if the foam seal around the vent needed to be replaced but there is no foam seal there. Do I add a foam seal?Unplug the dryer from the wall outlet. 2. Locate the thermal switch and disconnect the wires. Next, remove the mounting screws and remove the thermal switch. Use a multimeter to test the thermal switch for continuity.
